Nice
Seems like it's hand built, what kind of mods are you getting on yours

It's from the Gyraf kit. I ended up just taking this one as I like the sound so much so will just have it moved into a new case.

Eventually might get the hipass sidechain filter but will see how it sounds using filtered trigger from the DAW.

Overall amazing unit though, been listening to it non stop since yesterday

Have had a bit more time with this and still really loving it, even after the initial honeymoon period has passed.

Have put The Glue up against it and I just can't get the same results. The Glue does a good job but I always felt like it was missing something. The SSL just sounds a lot more defined, transients are really crisp, release is tight to the groove.

It also looses some low end in the process but once that's put back in the low end is really punchy.

The Glue just doesn't have the same grab and authority that the SSL brings.

I really can't fault the SSL at all, it's everything that compression should sound like to me, no compromise (which is usually the way with plugins).

Thumbs up

Nice J, when you have the time, it would be cool if can you load up an audio sample of the glue vs the ssl with similar settings on a drum buss.

Hi sorry for the late reply didn't know there were questions

Will try to do comparisons if I get some time.

It's basically the same as the DIY one, Steffen also uses the gyraf kit but he might mod it a bit from there.
Right now I am using it on parallel buss with an SPL vitalizer.

I found it a little too wild sometimes so this is better to just mix it in as needed. One day I will probably get a second one though for drum buss.
