I think I'd just take a SCOPE system with a decent controller and be done with it.

Probably a smart thing for Sonic Core not to support OS X for the time being because the costs would be quite steep. For a company that just went through insolvency recently, I understand why.

What perplexes me why is Live 7 crashing more on my Mac than on my PC? It's usually a plugin, but still...

For me it's not that perplexing at all, I've never found Macs to be that superior stability wise as they are purported to be. In fact the name of my first ever signed track was done so after my Mac II crashed and almost lost it ;-)

Well, good that you were able to resurrect it. I think the OS X kernel is actually pretty stable, but the problem is that it doesn't jive well with non-Apple products. They boot fast though, which demonstrates how light the OS is when compared to Windows.

They were forward thinking by notifying audio software developers about the audio units change in OS X well over a year in advance. Obviously there are still issues. If i were a plugin developer, I'd be tempted to only support PCs initially.

In the end it truly is a matter of prefrence, true, but the mac hype isnt build on nothing it has some validity to it.

Matter of fact I was just about fed up and about to give up (cause of my windows crashing) when i got into macs and life became so much easier, no crashes if i was looking for a file the hierarchy just seemed more logical, things seem to communicate much better within the system etc etc. much much more stable from the expreince ive had with them.

went of on a mac/pc tangent there, back to the subject at hand +1 for the scope environment being supported on OSX, woo hoo scope

Sven,

I remember reading somewhere on ableton's site that they were having problems with live 7, the intel macs, and OSX 10.5 (which is a beautiful OS from the examples ive seen) in regards to initiating a plugin on a track so hopefully there will be an upgrade or patch to fix that soon.

Again thx for the screenshot I have it up as my background.

Ah, that makes sense. That's good news then. I work on the Mac so I can get out of the studio a bit to avoid cabin fever.

Nice one on the background, hehe.
