Default Headroom for mastering

Hello,
I am interested in sending tracks in the future to be mastered - the mixing on my end I am going to get as tight as possible. how much headroom do you recommend to be left for mastering? I am probably going to use the analog mastering option.
Thanks.

Hi good question as I get asked this a lot.

The only really thing you need to be careful with is to not clip the master. Beyond that though it doesnt really matter. If you bounce at 24 bit there's loads of dynamic range to play with but usually a 4-5 db below 0 is fine.
