Btw someone pointed out that in the full track warping demonstration I knew the tempo and wanted to know how to find it if you don't. I left that out as this was more about how 8 differs from 7, but you would just look at the first 8-16 beats and manually change the tempo up and down until you see the transients line up with the bar display.

just an aside question, how come most tracks are slightly off at the end?

Detailed is my forte' if anything I used to get complaints doing workshops I was too detailed hehe

That's a good question I think it's due to the fact that tempo and sample rate doing coincide. I noticed this way back with Samplitude in 2002 or so. It was one of the first DAWs to use an audio/sample based grid as opposed to midi/ppq. So even though it did copying and pasting on a tempo grid it would always go off a little due to rounding errors.

Now with todays DAWs they dont suffer to the same extent that Samplitude did but it's the only thing I can think of is that rounding errors due to single samples not quite lining up with the ppq grid. Just a guess though.
